The Healthcare Design Conference + Expo welcomes presentation proposals that respond to the current needs of healthcare organizations and solutions being put into place across the healthcare planning, design, construction, and operations/facility management sectors.

Topics of interest for the 2026 program include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Facility renovation and reuse
  • Outpatient/ambulatory care environments
  • Integrating technology and supporting future innovations
  • Staff and campus safety
  • Construction methods and prefabrication
  • Health and wellness
  • Designing for an aging population
  • Freestanding EDs/microhospitals/urgent care centers
  • Sustainability/resiliency
  • Specialty service lines (pediatrics, mental health, cancer care, etc.)
  • Interior design aesthetics and materials/FF&E selections
  • Advanced construction methods and project delivery solutions (prefabrication, mass timber, etc.)
  • Medical and equipment planning and programming
  • Building systems and infrastructure
  • Community-based and rural healthcare
  • Clinical perspectives in design
  • International projects and design approaches


The Healthcare Design Conference audience comes from many disciplines and different levels of professional experience. Attendees include architects, interior designers, facility managers, hospital/health system leaders, engineers, builders, academics, researchers, clinicians, students, and product manufacturers/vendors. To best serve this audience, the goal of the conference program is to support a range of knowledge levels, offering foundational to master-class learnings.
