  • 1.  Best of the Camels Vol 1

Some have asked to see a trimmed down version of the discussion that has occurred as a result of the Camels on the Head of a Pin post.  Also, I hope that COD, by the end of 2012, can say something useful about the role(s) of COD and meaning(s) of architectural design excellence.  Consequently, two new documents have been posted.  One is called "CamelContributors1" and gives you a short introduction to some of the voices heard in this discussion.  The second is called "Best of Camels Volume 1" and is my edit of the first 15 days of the discussion.  During January and February, I intend to work my way through all of the 2011 posts, provide a complete digest and introduce you to all of the major contributors.  I hope you will continue to contribute to "Camels" either by starting new discussions or by responding to things you find in the "Best of" series.

One other item needs attention.  You will see that Walter Hosack is one of the featured contributors but you will find that none of Walter'sr  posts have been included in Best of.  Walter has been, by far, our most prolific contributor.  Many of the posts included here and in later Best ofs will be responses to posts by Walter.  Because his contributions have dwarfed all others, I plan to culminate the Best of series with a collection of my favorite ideas and quotes from Walter.

Wishing all of you a happy, thought-provoking and prosperous new year.
