  • 1.  Facility Management software

    Posted 10-24-2013 11:44 AM
I have a client with approximately 20 buildings totalling 300,000 SF. They are interested in creating facility management program to track usage, tenants, and maintenance scheduling. It will need to be easy to access and use by the building managers. The program should work with Autocad and Revit.

Does anyone have a recommendation for appropriate software for this use? I've looked at FM Systems. The initial cost is $50,000, which seems too high for a small user. I've also emailed CAFM Explorer, but haven't received a response.

I tried cross posting to the Committee for Corporate Architects and Facility Management, but that isn't working.

    Thanks for any suggestions

I spoke to a colleague who has handled several large campuses and is active in the International Facilities Manager Assocation.  Here is his response:

"  I'm familiar with FM Systems - it's a great system, however, may be too expensive for a small company.  Also, there are 50+ work order management systems that can provide similar results.  One of the simplest FM programs is a combination of MS Excel and Word.  Begin tracking what wanted, then migrate to a more sophisticated system.  I have a number of FM friends across the country and could put them in touch with someone locally."

If you'd like to contact me offline I 'll be happy to put you in touch.
