If you're a Linked in member, check out the big discussion of Revit vs. ArchiCad on the ArchiCad group page. In the end it sounds more emotional that easily summarized--both programs do a lot, both have quirks, people have allegiances. We're an ArchiCad office. But I would definitely concur with the previous suggestion to get good training right off the bat.
