    My emerging small practice is focused on good contemporary design and seek insight on obtaining design focused projects.  Based on my observation, the challenge is most clients only consider established firms with a history of good design projects for opportunities.  

    It would be great to know sources for architectural design competions.

    The best site for competitions that I know of is "Death By Architecture".  many of the competitions listed in the trade magazines don't show up until the deadline is near or past.
