  • 1.  Contract for design services for owner-builder?

I was recently contacted by a potential client looking for design services for a new lake-side home. He would like to build the home himself but needs help with the design and ensuring it meets the shoreland zoning requirements of the state/town.

Which AIA contract should I start with? Or should I avoid this project?

You can use teh contract for special projects. Make sure to put in there that you re not responsible for ANYTHING! The architect who does the final drawings will be responsible for everything.

I don't think you understand... I'm the architect for the project if I take it on. The home owner wants to build it himself...
