  • 1.  Sketchup versus Revit for Design

Working on the front end of projects I work in the virtual world of Sketchup with Enscape. We do a lot of Interiors, Renovations, and Exterior Placemaking with existing buildings so our clients require quick options and revisions.  We are trying to broaden our tool base and use Revit for Design and not just for Construction Documents in our Studio.  Wondering how other firms manage and preserve Presentation Drawings and detailed Renderings in a Revit Model that is in constant flux during the Construction Document process.

I'll be excited to see this topic develop. Our firm, I think, is finally taking the leap and switching to Revit (we currently work primarily in Archicad). I have a lot of experience using Sketchup, so being able to utilize that skillset in addition to Revit will be a huge plus.
